Where to start if you are not sure

Most people arrive here with a symptom rather than a service in mind. If water spills over the edge, start with cleaning or blockage. If the line sags or drips at a corner, start with repair. If it overflows when clean, that is capacity and it points at replacement or extra downspouts. If the trouble is on the ground rather than the roof, it is drainage. Call and describe it and we will point you at the right one.

How these thirty services fit together

Almost every gutter problem in Knox County falls into one of four groups: the run is blocked, the run is damaged, the run is the wrong size, or the water is fine until it reaches the ground.

Those groups need genuinely different work. Clearing a blockage is a short visit; correcting capacity means new trough and more leaders; drainage work happens below the gutter entirely and sometimes has nothing to do with the roof.

The value in naming them separately is that the wrong diagnosis is expensive. Cleaning a gutter that overflows because it is undersized buys nothing, and replacing a run that is simply unfastened is money spent on sound metal.

The full list, grouped by what you are trying to fix

Installation

New runs, whichever material and profile the house calls for.

Repair

Where the trough is sound and something else has failed.

Guards & Cleaning

Managing what Knoxville trees drop, and keeping it out.

Drainage

Everything that happens after the water leaves the downspout.

Choosing between the ones that look similar

Cleaning against blockage repair is the first pair people confuse. A cleaning clears every run on the house on a schedule. A blockage call targets the one outlet that is overflowing now. If one corner is spilling, you want the second.

Repair against replacement turns on the trough itself. Where the metal is straight and unperforated, sags, open joints and lost pitch are all fixable in place for a fraction of a new run. Where it is rusted through, bent along its length, or too small for the roof, replacement is the honest answer.

Extensions against buried drainage is a question of distance and appearance. An extension is cheap, reversible and visible; a buried line goes further, survives mowing and disappears. On flat clay lots the buried option usually wins.

French drains against downspout lines is the one worth getting right. A French drain collects groundwater slowly along its length. A downspout line carries roof volume quickly from point to point. Connecting the second into the first overwhelms it, so properties needing both get two separate systems.

Guards against maintenance plans is a spending decision rather than a technical one. Guards reduce the work; plans schedule it. Under heavy pine or oak most owners end up with both, because a guarded run still needs looking at once a year.

How we approach the work

The cause gets found first

Sealing a symptom without checking uphill of it is why repairs come back.

Water proves every job

Runs are flushed and the discharge watched before we leave.

Honest about what is not needed

We will tell you when a repair beats a replacement, or when the fault is not the gutter at all.

Answered around the clock

Storm damage does not wait for business hours, and neither does the phone.

Questions about choosing a service

Not sure which one you need?

Describe what the water is doing and we will tell you which service fits, including when the answer is none of them.
